A fire incident on Monday afternoon, January 20, destroyed a boys’ dormitory at Enkasiti Comprehensive School in Kajiado East Constituency, causing major disruption to learning at the institution.
The blaze completely razed the 82-bed dormitory, leaving students counting losses after their personal belongings were reduced to ashes. No injuries or deaths were reported, with all learners confirmed to be safe.
According to preliminary information, the fire broke out while students were engaged in afternoon activities, a situation that helped avert loss of life. Efforts by local residents to contain the fire were unsuccessful due to the intensity of the flames.
