Kajiado County Commissioner Michael Yator has authorized the operationalization of several gazetted administrative units across the county in a move aimed at strengthening national government administration and improving service delivery at the grassroots.
In a letter dated January 22, 2026, issued through the Office of the President under the Ministry of Interior and National Administration, Yator granted authority following approval from the Regional Commissioner, Rift Valley Region. The directive was addressed to all Deputy County Commissioners in Kajiado County.
The approved administrative units cut across several sub counties. In Kajiado West Sub County, Olchoro Onyore Division will have Oldepe Location with Orupuklo as the sub location, alongside Embarbal and Kimuka locations. In Elangata Wuas Sub County, Olkiramatian Division will include Oldonyonyokie East Location with Eroret as the designated sub location.

Kajiado Central Sub County will have Ilkilorit Location with Nandunguru as the sub location, as well as Pelewa Location. Oloililai Sub County will include Oloililai Location with Leboo as the sub location, while Isinya Sub County will have Olooltapes Location with Inkukuon as the sub location.
In Mashuru Sub County, Ilmanen Location with Oloolera as the sub location was approved, while Kajiado North Sub County will include Laiser Hill Location with Marimbet as the sub location. Loitoktok Sub County will have Elangata Enkima Location operationalized with Osoit as the sub location.
The County Commissioner directed that the Revised Scheme of Service for National Administrative Officers 2015 be strictly adhered to during the operationalization process.
The move is expected to enhance coordination of national government functions, improve security management, and bring government services closer to residents in remote and fast growing areas of Kajiado County.
