New team elected at Kajiado Bunge Sacco meeting

The Kajiado County Bunge Sacco on December 10 held a well attended Special General Meeting (SGM) at the Assembly Chambers, marking an important step in strengthening financial empowerment initiatives for staff of the County Assembly.

During the session, members formally adopted the Sacco Credit Policy and approved the annual budget. Both documents are expected to guide the Sacco’s operations, improve financial discipline and expand opportunities for members seeking affordable credit and savings products.

A key highlight of the meeting was the election of a new Supervisory Committee.
The team elected to oversee accountability and compliance includes Joseph Rakua as Chairperson, Sylvia Wetta as Secretary and Vivian Kareisi as a member. Their mandate is to ensure transparency, safeguard members’ interests, and support effective governance within the Sacco. The Assembly leadership congratulated the trio and expressed confidence in their ability to deliver.

Speaking during the meeting, the Speaker of the Kajiado County Assembly, Justus Ngossor, praised staff for taking initiative to establish and grow the Sacco. He reaffirmed that the County Assembly Service Board remains committed to supporting staff driven empowerment programs, noting that such initiatives align with the institution’s long term goal of promoting welfare and financial stability among employees.

The Assembly celebrated the day as a significant milestone, describing the Sacco as a platform with strong potential to uplift its members through savings, responsible borrowing and collective growth. As it expands, the Sacco is expected to enhance financial inclusion and nurture a culture of economic planning within the workforce.

The leadership and ,members expressed optimism that with clear policies, strong governance and active participation, the Kajiado County Bunge Sacco will continue to grow into a robust financial empowerment institution serving all its stakeholders effectively.
