Kajiado Assembly sets approval hearings for key County Public Service Board nominees

The Kajiado County Assembly has scheduled approval hearings following the Governor’s submission of nominees for key positions in the County Public Service Board and the Selection Panel.

The nominations cover the posts of Chairperson of the Selection Panel, Panel Members and the Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the County Public Service Board. They were submitted under Section 44(2A) and Section 58A of the County Government Amendment Act No. 11 of 2020.

The hearings will take place on  December 15, 2025, at the County Assembly Chambers in Kajiado. They will be conducted by the Committee on Appointments.

Five nominees will be vetted at different times throughout the day. Dr. Naomi Kipury, nominated as Chairperson, is scheduled for 9:00 am. She will be followed by  Korir Kibet Kennedy at 10:00 am and  Daniel Mwathe at 11:00 am. Dr. Alice Lakat will appear at noon, and Elly Solonka Ole Korinko will conclude the sessions at 2:00 pm.

Nominees are required to collect vetting questionnaires from the Office of the Clerk of the Assembly. Completed forms, along with copies of academic certificates, testimonials and current clearance documents, must be submitted by  December 11.

Mandatory clearances include certificates from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), and a Credit Reference Bureau (CRB). Applicants with foreign qualifications must also provide recognition and equivalence documents from the Commission for University Education.

The Assembly has invited members of the public to attend the hearings or submit written comments on the suitability of any nominee. Submissions may take the form of sworn statements or affidavits and may be supported by documentary evidence. All comments must reach the Office of the Clerk by December 11.

The vetting process will determine the team responsible for overseeing recruitment to senior county positions, making the approval hearings a key step in strengthening public service governance in Kajiado County.
