Kajiado County has marked a major milestone in its plan to build livable towns after issuing the first phase of lease titles to plot owners across several key urban centres. The exercise was conducted today at the county headquarters and it signals a new chapter in land administration.
The event was presided over by Governor Joseph Ole Lenku and Deputy Governor Martin Moshisho Martine. They were joined by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Land Commission Kabale Tache Arero as they handed over lease titles to beneficiaries from Bulbul, Isinya, Noonkopir, Kajiado town and Namanga.
The new lease titles officially replace the old allotment letters which residents have relied on for years. This shift brings clarity and legitimacy to land ownership since the updated documents enhance transparency and reduce long-standing disputes.

According to the Deputy Governor the issuance fulfills one of the administration’s promises under the county’s four-pronged development agenda. He added that the achievement aligns with the broader goal of proper town planning and orderly growth.
Furthermore the county leadership lauded the Lands Department and all stakeholders who contributed to the success of the exercise. Their coordination ensured that the long process of verification and documentation was completed smoothly.
