Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya has unveiled a bold 10-year Strategic Plan under the Soipan Tuya Foundation, marking a transformative moment for youth, women, and children from marginalised communities across Kenya.
The launch, held yesterday, drew dignitaries from across the country, including Kajiado Governor Joseph ole Lenku, who praised the initiative as a powerful example of leadership rooted in service and vision.
The Foundation’s new roadmap focuses on expanding access to mentorship, scholarships, mental health support, financial literacy, and digital safety. It also aims to build emotional intelligence and resilience among young people, equipping them to navigate life’s challenges and seize opportunities with confidence.
Speaking at the event, Lenku described education as one of the strongest pillars of change and empowerment. He commended Tuya for her commitment to giving back to society and opening doors for others. “She continues to show that greatness is within reach, especially for our daughters. When one of us rises, we all rise stronger, prouder, and more united in hope for a better tomorrow,” he said.

The Foundation is built on five transformative pillars: education, economic empowerment, well-being, environmental sustainability, and leadership. Through these, it seeks to dismantle systemic barriers and create pathways for dignity, opportunity, and growth. The strategic plan will guide its operations through 2035, with a focus on scaling impact and deepening partnerships across sectors.
Tuya called on stakeholders to support the vision and help build a society where every child, regardless of background, can thrive. “This is about showing up for yourself and others. It’s about standing out, staying focused, and being resilient,” she said.
